Blogging is one of my favorite ways to make a little (or a lot) of extra income. Not only is it a creative outlet, great networking tool, and actually enjoyable work; it has many opportunities to make an extra buck here and there. Most of these methods are easy to set up and require very little maintenance. Creating a blog is a great way to get more flow to your actual Internet business you are trying to sell. This will mean more money from sales and also the side money from the blog. A win-win!

Below are a few ways to make money from your blog.

One of the first things you want to try to do is increase your blog readership. The more people coming to your blog the easier it will be to get other profitable opportunities. You can start by posting your new blog on social media sites and naturally people will start to look at your blog. Also, start connecting with other bloggers in your genre. Comment on their blogs and slowly they will start checking out your link from the comments. As you naturally build relationships with other bloggers, doing a guest post and linking to each others page will benefit you both.

Once you get your blog going, the most common way to make money blogging is advertising space. Most common is Google AdSense. The bigger your blog gets the more money you can make from each advertisement. You will get paid either on amount of clicks or site views. Other options are BlogAds and of course affiliate programs.

As your blog grows you can reach out for sponsored products. While some bloggers are against using this method it's a great way to make money from a blog. The companies will offer you money (or products) to advertise and do reviews for them; or give you products to host a giveaway. Using this method too much on a blog can seem like you are only blogging to get money. So use it sparingly to make sure you keep your readers happy.

These are just a few ways to generate some income if you decide to start blogging or have already started a blog. Just remember it's important to start with a blog that is professional, interesting, and true to whom you are and what you are trying to do. If you can do that, blogging will create an excellent addition to your Internet business.
